Fertile Egg Policy

Before you order

Our hatching eggs come from our own Brisbane breeding pens. Choose Light Sussex, Coronation Sussex or Barnevelder in half dozens or full dozens. They are sold for incubation, not eating.

Our Barnevelder pen

Blue and gold laced Barnevelders share one breeding pen. Their eggs are sold together. Chick colours and markings vary; a particular colour or colour ratio is not guaranteed.

Fertility and hatch results

Hatching is a natural process. Fertility and hatchability are different measures, and outcomes depend on the breeding flock, egg storage, handling, transport and incubation. We cannot guarantee that every egg is fertile or that a particular number will hatch.

Please follow your incubator manufacturer’s instructions and keep records of collection, arrival, setting, candling and hatch results.

When your eggs arrive

Open the parcel carefully and inspect the eggs. If anything is cracked, missing or damaged, contact us as soon as reasonably possible with your order number and photographs of the eggs, internal packing, outer box and shipping label. Keep the packaging while we review the issue.

If you have a disappointing hatch, contact us with your hatch records so we can discuss the result. Clear eggs at candling do not, by themselves, establish why development failed.

Preorders

A preorder is only available when a release has confirmed quantities and an estimated dispatch window. Read the release and payment terms before ordering. An enquiry or newsletter signup does not reserve eggs.

We will contact you if a confirmed release is delayed. Check the current fertile-egg and chick listings for available stock and preorder releases. Only listings with a confirmed dispatch window can be preordered.

Help with your order

We assess damage, missing items and product concerns individually. Nothing in this policy excludes consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
